| In preparation for the Global Day of Action Against Barrick Gold, Sakura Saunders, of CorpWatch, draws attention to the upcoming event. Dressed up in a wedding dress and walking on stilts, she draws the connection between the human rights abuses of Aboriginal Peoples around the world at the hands of Barrick Gold, the world's largest gold mining corporation based in Toronto, Canada, and the jewelry that people wear. For every wedding ring made with gold, she says, Barrick Gold dumps 20 tonnes of waste on Aboriginal Land in various countries around the world.
